About Babykakes

THE INSPIRATIONDesigner, Kimberly Souliere has incorporated the casual influences from her current home in Los Angeles with her urban upbringing in Springfield, MA, to bring Babykakes dresses to life.Inspired by her Mother, two Memeres (French for grandmother), and Great-Memere, who all had a hand in teaching her how to sew, Kimberly developed a passion for creating clothing at a young age. Earning a BA in Theatre Arts from Boston, and an MBA from Southern California, the creativity and inspiration was easy to find. Each dress is hand-made, with carefully chosen fabrics that have interesting patterns and colors, that are soft, stretchy, and comfortable. With her creative background in Costume Design, she designs a dress according to what inspires her at the time. Fabric colors and patterns are always changing, and it is rare to find more than 6-12 of any given combo. Creating unusual silhouettes, the dresses have details that are meant to capture attention from every angle. Most pieces are versatile and can easily go from day to night by changing from flip-flops to high-heels.TOPS
